2008 Event Information
We are currently in the planning stages for our 2008 event.  Please check back soon for more information!

2007 Event Information
Due to the large number of Think Pink and other breast cancer awareness events already scheduled for the month of October, we have decided to postpone our Project Flamingo campaign until March 2008.  Although October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, ZTA is committed to raising awareness and educating the public year-round and the message is just as important regardless of the month in which it is received.

2006 Event Information
From October 4 to November 4, we celebrated our 5th annual event during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We "flew" a flamingo sign in the yards of friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors throughout the Nashville area to raise money and awareness for the ZTA Foundation and our efforts to educate the public about breast cancer.  We end this year's campaign on November 4 - the date of the Greater Nashville Race for the Cure, benefitting the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

About Project Flamingo:
Each yard is adorned with one flamingo sign to reinforce the fact that 1 in 7 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime.  The owner of the yard is asked to make a donation of at least $10 so that he or she can add someone to our flock list.  In return, we will move the flamingo to the yard of their choice.

With at least 10 flamingos to move each evening, we rely on the chapter members to keep them "flying" so that we can spread the message about breast cancer to as many people as possible.

In the past several years we have received coverage from all of the TV networks, several radio stations, and some print media. Best of all, we have raised nearly $3000 for the ZTA Foundation, benefitting the Fraternity's breast cancer education and awareness projects.
